Share Stories of SF Officials, SFPD Violating Human Rights-Abuse & Kidnapping in 2016

We've been monitoring the conduct and behavior of our Mayor Edwin Mah Lee and our San Francisco Board of Supervisor Members towards our most vulnerable sector of our residents, being those of us who are homeless and poor.

Keeping in mind that it was this Mayor (and others higher up in state government) who MADE CASH for themselves by supporting the rapid Importation of more than 15,000 Foreign Workers into our communities, which CREATED 20,000+ New Homeless.

To MOVE PEOPLE against their will on the street or from one place to another for Business Profits is a GROSS VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS.

It is a Felony often called False Imprisonment;  False Arrest;  Kidnapping.    If you or I do that to another Human Being, we'd be arrested and may be charged with multiple felonies.

No Human in San Francisco has the right to force another human being to move without great cause to protect life or prevent a serious, imminent harm.    This includes shortsided or paid off politicians in office or cops in uniform.

If they force YOU to move without a genuine public safety cause, they are acting out crimes whether they realize or acknowledge it or not.   They are GUILTY of Crimes Against Humanity and other local and state and federal laws.

Educate yourself on the laws they are breaking while being paid tax dollar salaries and pensions.   Here are 3 ways to help keep you and your property safe, while homeless.

   1.   DO NOT SLEEP OR BE ALONE.  Easiest way to be abused is to be alone.

   2.  ALWAYS HAVE FOLKS WITH VIDEO CAMS AND CELL PHONE VIDEO DEVICES COSE BY.   Proving what happens makes all the difference to win any case or conflict.

   3.  DOWNLOAD THE ANDROID APP "CELL 411" TO CREATE NETWORKS FOR HELP & LIVE STREAM RECORDING OF ALTERCATIONS WITH CRIMINALS ON OUR STREETS OR INSIDE SRO HOTELS.

    4.   KEEP A JOURNAL.   Take notes every day on what you see city workers, cops, case workers, social workers DO and SAY TO YOU.   Note the date and time and people's names.   Get in the habit of asking every city or non-profit worker you see their names. Share your notes with TRUSTED peers in your community.

Odd Couple Predators Beat on Homeless Woman with Police Baton in SF Mission District 2-4am 3-26-2015

Posted on Facebook earlier today:

** PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT - SAN FRANCISCO, CA-MISSION DISTRICT **

ATTN: BE ON THE LOOK OUT - 2 Males Beating Sleeping Women Near Valencia Street and 16th Street in the Mission. Another beating happened to our gentle friend, last night.

She's the sweet woman with 'pastey white' face who hangs out near Taqueria La Cumbre on Valencia for the past several years.  We feed her and watch out for her, but last night she was beaten while asleep.

 Here's the story, so far:

Thu Mar 26, 2015 - Approx. 2-4am, 16th & Valencia, 16th & Rondel Alley:

A young homeless woman we know was beaten last night on Valencia Street, near 16th Street in the middle of the night. The two assailants were both dark skinned (black, dark brown) men in their late 40's to late 50's.

First man, 6" - 3" Tall, heavy build, wearing all black shirt, cotton pullover, dark blue jeans who touched her while sleeping on the sidewalk and she told him to leave her alone, she's sleeping.

That man started kicking her in the ribs.
Collapsible Baton Stick & Case

Then a second man, much shorter ( 5'-7, 8" tall, medium build) and in his late 40's (younger than the other) pulled out a Police Baton (similar to picture) Stick and repeated strikes in her face and ribs.   She was shaken up when we spoke to her, the ages may be reversed...

She now has Five Broken Ribs.

She did not report the incident to SFPD, at first, because SHE IS AFRAID OF THEM.

They have harassed her before and she doesn't even drink liquor or use drugs and never bothers anyone, except when she's normally upset about something, as we all get.

She also knew how Sgt. Petuya had harassed our elderly attorney and what's worse is that when Sgt. Petuya was harassing us over the elder attorney sitting on a $25 stool while we talked legal matters, it shows how out of touch and 'thoughtless' our officers have become over the past several years.

S.F.P.D. SGT. PETUYA POWER/ELDER ABUSE STORY IS HERE

We told her that even though there are bad acting, biased officers like Sgt. Petuya, we told her that not all cops in San Francisco are that way.

We have many wise and just officers who do their jobs by NOT bothering good people and by focussing only on those folks causing harm, every day.

That is what 'real police officers' do. They HELP us to be safe from bad people.

They focus attention on those that harm us. We support Good Cops who don't waste time acting out their personal hate on elders, people of one skin color or another or other factors that make them a liability to us all and not an asset as the good cops are.

Only the lowest form of cops spend their time hating on and nitpicking over the tiniest of 'technical violations' because they take out their anger and 'power trip' over the 'weakest' most vulnerable members of our society.

These are coward predators, no different from these two violent predators that attacked this harmless sleeping friend of ours.

The good cops, the ones we respect, honor and admire do not spend any time on matters that do not reduce harm and save lives.

They do not harass our poor people, our elders and our homeless.

And once they know your gender, they refer to you with the proper pronouns, because to good cops your persona is important.

They SEE YOU as a real live, flesh and blood human deserving of respect and to be LEFT ALONE if you are not harming anyone else, period. You are not just 'one of those…. blah, blah, blah' folks on the streets….

This is not the same city we all grew up in. Chase bank and predator corporations are destroying our neighborhoods, block by block for immense cash flows that leave town.  Our leaders are helping them.

Our leaders have allowed all manner of mentally ill, violent, drug or alcohol addicted officers into our police and sheriff departments who do spend time and tax dollars picking on people because they are mentally defective by illness or by substance abuse which GOES UNCHECKED in our law enforcement departments.

When are our City Leaders going to PURGE the ranks of our police and sheriffs department of the hordes of abusers, beaters and murderers that have grown over time, to the point where this Sgt. thought he was doing something right by bothering an elder attorney and her client who WERE NOT BOTHERING ANYONE OR BREAKING ANY JUST LAWS, PERIOD.

If you were a cop and saw an elder woman with her client on a sidewalk not bothering anyone, what is in your mind when you see them ?

What, you don't' like old people ? Or you like bothering people at rest to exhibit how powerful you are ?

We recalled the last part of our encounter with Sgt. Peyuta, he invaded our space and bothered the people whose taxes pay his salary.   He works FOR US.

We don't WORK FOR HIM. He has Authority over us if we break a law, or bother others, but, when that's not the case, he works for us.

As the elder attorney's blood pressure spiked she told the officer how rotten it was for him to even bother us, since there was no reason, except a personal bias or vision of hate towards 'people just hanging out, freely' which triggered him to think he had to do something and exert power where none was needed.

This shows he must have a mental problem (to bother folks not bothering anyone) from drug, alcohol or due to undiagnosed illness, because it's NOT NORMAL for any officer to go bother us the way he did. He kept calling her Sir and had no explanation as to WHY he chose to not follow city policy or police department policy (he denied knowing either re: Sit/Lie to be used only if folks are bothering others nor the Cannabis Lowest Priority City Ordinance).

In fact, we've had scores of officers walk by us when we medicate with cannabis or do BBQ's and have chairs to sit in.... for the past FIVE YEARS.

AND NO OTHER OFFICER HAS EVEN SEEN A NEED TO CONTROL US, BOTHER US OR WRITE US UP FOR ANYTHING, BECAUSE IT SERVES NO GOOD CAUSE OR REASON TO DO SO.

MOST COPS ARE NOT OUT THERE ANNOYING US JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN.

THAT IS GREAT POLICE LAW ENFORCEMENT WHEN COPS DON'T BOTHER WITH TRIVIAL MATTERS.

WHILE ALL AROUND US LIVES ARE ENDANGERED & HARMED BY TONS OF CRIMINALS THAT COME HERE BECAUSE OF THE GREAT CONCENTRATION OF WEALTH, MATERIAL OBJECTS AND VALUABLES THAT COME WITH MASSIVE GENTRIFICATION.

As we get more details, we'll pass them on.

How Many Uber Drivers Are in San Francisco ? Seen.is Research Poll-Public Safety Task Force

How Many Uber Drivers Are In San Francisco ?    If this were a properly licensed and regulated people moving service, all of us would have access to all driving, incident complaint and accident record involving the movement of people on public & private roads.

This is why it costs more to use taxis.... but, if one needs to check up on cabbies, there are publicly available records, being licensed as a public transit service.

https://seen.is/polls/view/231/research-poll-how-many-uber-drivers-are-in-san-francisco
Click on Photo To Go To The Poll On Seen.is
With Uber, Lyft, you and I have no idea how many, who or how many complaints or accidents are being caused by their drivers, because its a privatized cheap service operating as a valuable, verifiable public transit service.... a biz model doomed to fail.

That's why we have regs to stop these kind of cheaters from starting businesses without full respect for existing conditions, people, laws, businesses and regulations and their intent because they don't care.

They do this for money over a time window of opportunity, until its about to fail or get too expensive to operate safely and legitimately, then they bail with all the cash and leave all the victims, employees, stockholders, pension holders behind, as they move onto to their next target market area, in your community or town soon.

We created a Poll on the cool, ad free Social Network Site called Seen.Is (in iceland).

http://www.quora.com/How-many-Uber-incidents-are-there-per-drivers-and-how-does-that-compare-to-normal-taxi-drivers

Help us answer this Research Poll to find out our collective best guess as to how many actual Uber Drivers are in San Francisco.   Thank you for your help...

SPEEDING UBER DRIVER ALMOST RUNS DOWN U.S. POSTAL WORKER & LOCAL RESIDENT ON VALENCIA ST TODAY

SPEEDING UBER DRIVER ALMOST RUNS DOWN U.S. POSTAL WORKER & LOCAL RESIDENT ON VALENCIA STREET, FAILS TO SLOW DOWN, THEN ‘FLIPS’ THE BIRD AT THEM AS HE SPED NORTH TOWARDS MARKET @ 12:13PM TODAY, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2014.

San Francisco, California - A local cannabis patient advocate was following along a U.S. Postal Worker, who was crossing over Valencia Street, to deliver mail on his route.

Cars headed southbound, in the 400 Block of Valencia Street, slowed down, waved us to cross.

A new, Large Black SUV, was seen headed for us at high speed (approx. 35-45 mph on dense, residential street), coming from the south (from 16th Street towards 15th Street).

As Posted on Seen.Is - Secure, Ad Free Social Network

And as he (Black SUV Uber Driver) saw us in his path,  he appeared to speed up and stuck his middle finger up against the driver windshield, grinning like the Devil himself... totally out of control and in some fit of rage or complete lack of care for anyone’s safety, including his own.

He really terrified us.    Others walking who saw him, were outraged.  You could see him and that U for UBER badge in his windshield, just so happy to have local pedestrians in front of his big, black SUV.

This happened right after 12 noon, at about 12:12PM, today, less than an hour ago.

Until Chase bank moved into town in force and all these lack of regard for local laws by these newcomer corporations and techies, our lives have become dangerous.

Seen.Is Search- Boycott Uber

In the past decade (up to about 2 years ago),  no one in this part of the mission district had any problem with conflicts because everyone has a reason to cross the streets, at will, to avoid hazards, bad people, bad cops, bad store owners.

And due to other things like mental illness, drug useage (recent stats say Seven Out of Ten Folks Here Are Now On Big  Pharma Drugs) -- but the majority of our locals didn’t use cars much.

And when we did, we never honked much or got mad at delays because tomorrow, we may have to cause a delay, and that keeps us safe.

Newcomers, being lured into and packed into our city with too many cars and now outlaw drivers, underpaid, underinsured employed in about to fail business models are not just an inconvenience.

They steal our space, enable Chase to jack all housing up 4 Times normal rates;  evict all classes of local residents, businesses, mom & pops and children into the streets who built this city and made it what it was before all these ‘actors’ were imported here to drive us all down & out of our own city.

These drivers operating under shaky biz models are causing real harm to us
every day now.   Hell, they killed a young, six year old girl this past month, didn’t they ?

It’s just like when Domino Pizza Drivers began to crack and started to drive more and more wreckless as their illegalities and shit hit the fan.

Same cycle repeated over and over onto new waves of naïve or pre-channeled young minds who in their defense are just trying to get by any way possible, but nonetheless, they are being used as weapons against us...

I mean, who in government lets a product be sold that results in more than 1.6 Million Accidents on our roads from coast to coast, in a single year....

Wow!  One point Six Million Accidents caused by distracted drivers.  That rivals all other causes of accidents combined (i.g. DUI’s, Weather, Car Defects) which are Ipods, Iphones, Androids in the hands of Drivers of Cars, Vehicles and Baby Buggies.

Who are all distracted (but don't think they are) to the point of being neglectful of the responsibility to us all, to NEVER be out of control or distracted while operating vehicles that maim and kill in split second, on any given day, at any given time, for any number of existing real life reasons & causes.

Well, we told some bikers and asked them to bike ahead and get this Out Of Control Uber Driver’s License Plate Number and shoot him with video so we have a record.

In fact, we’re going to start an new Task Force, just to monitor and document how much damage and death is already being caused by Uber and other similar, renegade, new wave criminal enterprises to us all.

We say criminal, because those in charge should have known, by looking back at the history of all similar start up model’s eventual fates.   The same as  their current biz models whenin everything is minimized -  like a nazi engineered rocket, they even set aside budgets to pay for anticipated FUTURE HARMS & LOSSES.

Harm and losses they know their biz model creates... mayhem, pressure, conflict with locals, preventable accidents and tragedy... all planned and prepaid for, hidden from the view of mass media and the investors that control them...

It’s a shame to see a great city change, only because of the presence of outsiders, who obviously care more about money and power, than safety and people’s lives.

SF Public Housing demand ( 30k SF Residents) prompts waiting list closure -San Francisco Examiner

How Do We Measure Our Good Citizen Selves As Providing For The Common Good Of All Of Our Residents's Basic Needs ?

Out of the 29,977 San Francisco Residents are in need for safe, public housing, the best we can do is come up with 104 Units ?

This is FRIGGIN OUTRAGEOUS.  IN EVERY U.S. CITY.  Poverty Pimps...

When YOU become homeless (those that make less than $20 Million a year),  the people in power you paid taxes and corporate bonuses and campaign contributions WILL LEAVE YOU OUT IN THE COLD.

The City, State and Federal Governments and Non-Profits have seen fit to NEGLECT the needs of 29,873 San Francisco Residents.

SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.    SHAME ON ALL OF US !

YOUR SOLUTION FOR 15 YEARS HAS BEEN TO WAREHOUSE & PROFIT BY KEEPING OUR PEOPLE IN SHABBY, RUN DOWN, HAZARDOUS, UNSANITARY, BEDBUG RIDDEN SHELTERS & SRO HOTELS - OFTEN RUN BY SLUM LORDS.  BECAUSE WHY ?

BECAUSE YOU ALL APPEAR TO BE INCAPABLE OR UNWILLING TO HONOR OUR PEOPLE IN NEED AND PERFORM YOUR CIVIC, MORAL AND LEGAL OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE FOR -EVERY- RESIDENT'S MOST BASIC, EFFICIENT AND ECONOMICAL NEEDS, IN THE FORM OF LONG TERM, SAFE, AFFORDABLE PUBLIC HOUSING.

WE GET IT NOW.

AGENCIES AND NON-PROFITS HAVE ALLOWED HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO PASS THROUGH THEIR HANDS TO -HELP- OUR MOST NEEDY, AT RISK AND IMPOVERISHED RESIDENTS.   SOME THIRTY THOUSAND OF US !!!

YOU CHOSE INSTEAD -- TO SET UP TEMPORARY REVOLVING DOORS IN YOUR PROGRAMS, WHERE EACH ONE OF YOUR LIVES WAS ENHANCED BY POWER, MONEY, SALARIES, COMMUNITY RESOURCES,  WHILE OUR PEOPLE WERE HIDDEN AWAY IN TEMPORARY PROGRAMS, SHELTERS AND HOUSING,   YEAR AFTER YEAR FOR 15 YEARS.

It's time for us all to make 30,000 Units in the next three years, OUR COMMON GOAL.

In 1906,   we had 250,000 Residents homeless and our ancestors saw fit to mobilize without long meetings and processes and studies to completely rebuild housing and businesses for all 250,000 residents in less than five or ten years.

No more excuses.  The FEDS failed us  and locals stepped up to profit by never-ending temporary facilities and programs causing us all to lose time, tax money, community resources and lives only due to a lack of leadership to MEET THE REAL NEEDS NOW.

We know it's three to five times more expensive (and dangerous to our people's lives and health) to maintain never-ending, unsafe temporary programs and shelters, than it is to Bite Our Common Bullet and make a huge, sustainable investment to ERADICATE HOME-LESS-NESS,  for at least these 30,000 Residents in need, now.

That would end some 80% of problems caused by having our people wander the streets or cower in unsafe temporary SRO Units orbe targets on the streets for drug dealers, kidnappers (in the mission-our teens), violent police officers and would end most of  the Toxic Assets created by the criminalization of our people who HAVE  NO SAFE PLACE TO GO.

“As of January 14, 2009, the public housing waiting list was 29,977,” according to a Housing Authority report.

There are only 104 vacant units.

It's all so clear now.

We want permanent housing now in Our City and The Elite want to maintain temporary, unstable conditions to keep us all on the run and on the move  as they skim off money and resources that SHOULD HAVE been spent on PERMANENT HOUSING SOLUTIONS.

No wonder so many of you keep fighting what Our Own Homeless and their advocates have been demanding all along.

We suffered while you all got pretty FAT and RICHER by keeping us on YOUR merry-go-rounds....  those days are over, so say goodbye to your greedy ways because we are going to push this to make it happen, once and for all.   You made temporary solutions for permanent basic needs an ongoing, billion dollar business and you forget the object was permanent solutions to end homelessness, instead of providing you all with institutionalized, systemic cash flows by NOT SERVING US WELL.

You all got yours and left us all ( Thirty Thousand of Us) hanging to die 20 years premature in substandard habitations, streets and jails, which you likely made more profits by investing in those, too.  Good for you. Are you happy now ?

No more scams, empty promises, campaign speeches, process games, town meetings for reform and the rest of those stall tactics to PROFIT FROM as you all stave off the inevitable final and just solution for all residents.

We must all find the sites and make it happen for ALL 30,000 OF OUR RESIDENTS, NOW.

And,  we must  acknowledge the reality that thousands more may be homeless in the next few years as well,   as the banks and corporate scammers continue to economically devastate our people who are deep in debt as they move to take away what's left of our homes, land and valuable assets on our way down to new homelessness here and around the country.

So,  we MUST meet Today's Needs and plan for more.   Now is the time to act and do this next right thing.    Lives are hanging in the balance.

Undercover Article Exposes San Francisco Homeless Shelters

Awesome work by Amanda Witherell and Bryan Cohen of the San Francisco Bay Guardian, exposed abuse and neglect inside our City's tax funded shelters. Just as Board of Supervisors were given a bogus and misleading report by SF Human Services Agency Director Trent Rohrer, leading to a 9-2 Veto Proof Vote to pass new Shelter Standards of Care Law ...

Photos of Meals Served in San Francisco Homeless Shelters- 5 photos

This information about homeless shelter meal photos, comes from Your new SFHomeless Yahoo Group Facebook site. WEB SOURCE: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44286&l=749d7&id=530713024 ( You can give out the link above to your friends, family and colleagues or forward a copy of this email to them ). MOST MEALS AT MOST OF OUR HOMELESS SHELTERS HAVE IMPROVED OVER LAST YEAR . . . We have noticed meals now being served has greatly improved at most non-profit tax funded and non-tax funded shelters. However, to maintain good nutrition and make sure that tax payers, food donators and the hungry residents' interests are being taken care of, we MUST convince our Board of Supervisors to fully fund the Registered Dietician Position to support our newly enacted Shelter Standards of Care Laws. The funding for the current SF Department of Public Health Registered Dietician has EXPIRED ! She was able to make some headway by running Pilot Meal Preparation and Nutrition Projects at Hamilton, MSC South and Next Door Shelters which have helped make sure that food is not being wasted and is being cooked and served properly (heated properly to safe temperatures, food stock rotation, safe food handling procedures, use of gloves, etc. basic safe food procedures that not every shelter staff member knows about...). GOOD NUTRITION AND ADEQUATE MEALS AND PORTIONS SAVE HEALTH AND MEDICAL COSTS, REDUCES SICKNESS AND SAVES TAX DOLLARS AND DONATED RESOURCES. HAVING THE MEALS MONITORED AT ALL SHELTERS MEANS MORE FOOD ON THE TABLE TO ENABLE OUR PEOPLE TO HAVE ENOUGH NUTRITION AND ENERGY TO THINK CLEARLY AND MOVE ON TO THEIR NEXT STEP. GOOD NUTRITION AND MEAL KITCHEN OVERSIGHT REDUCES COSTS AND HELPS IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF OUR RESIDENTS AND REDUCES MANY FORMS OF STRESS, CONFLICT AND MENTAL ILLNESS WHICH HELPS US ALL. How 2 Abuse the Homeless and Save Millions, -Gavin Newsom-NowPublic Update

Thanks to NowPublic user 'justice' for keeping us informed on this issue of Abuse of Homeless In San Francisco. Hiding the homeless or warehousing them makes it 'look like' things are better and money is being saved, but that is what we call 'smoke and mirrors'. To help our homeless get better, we need meetings that include their input and we need accountability and a voice in how our tax money is spent to improve our lives. We are tired of broken promises and being abused by City Workers and we are sick and tired of seeing services cut and safe spaces reduced by an Administration that just does not seem to 'get it'. Well paid and bad City Workers and Police Officers and their bosses, who 'get off' on abusing people while they are sleeping or suffering from mental illnesses or drug addictions MUST BE IDENTIFIED AND FIRED. We must replace them all with real people who care about others and hold up their promise to not break laws or violate our Constitutional Rights. Once one discovers (such as undercover reporters like Amanda Witherall from the SF Bay Guradian and her partner discovered) that these vital cost saving programs, services and safe places to our homeless are totally underfunded -- we can easily see that costs for 'crisis intervention' and police and medical overtime (and risk of harm and death to the homeless) increase rapidly every time money is cut from the front end of these services which PREVENT HARM and REDUCE COSTS in the long run. The current system punishes our people and rewards the abusers with high salaries and lots of fat overtime. We need to reverse the entire system and fire everyone who is committing crimes and 'working against' the safety and well being of our homeless, poor and elderly and veterans in our community. THIS IS OUR SAN FRANCISCO, NOT THEIRS. According to Glide, the number of meals (more correctly, the number of meal tickets) being served and/or people being served has already risen 30% over last year. That means that while Mayor Newsom was busy 'making it look nice' by policies which foster abuse of our people by police and city workers (spotlights, harassment, water canon assaults and beatings) and eliminating safe spaces at a time when any other reasonable Mayor would have been working hard to INCREASE funding for MORE SAFE SPACES to meet the rising demand for homeless and housing services in order to PREVENT future expensive costs to deal with his own 'self created' levels of crisis. The health of our people and our economy always suffer whenever our city leaders cave into special interests and whenever we allow city workers and police to violate laws and cause harm to our people. We know every dollar spent on prevention saves us at least 2 to 4 dollars later, by keeping all of our people as safe and healthy as possible, for the good of all San Franciscans. Look at the amount of money this City has been spending for years on overtime and programs that DO NOT WORK with lots of newly hired, highly paid executives in City Hall.
You can see that the problem is NOT the homeless and poor people, but rather the problems are being created highly paid people who abuse the system and do things that look good on the outside, but do not really work or function once you see what's really going on from the inside out -- of most of our current homeless policies and programs. Open Letter To: SF City Officials & Non-Profit Providers

Greetings and Salutations to our Honorable City Officials and Non-Profit Providers: A little history, current events and a 'behind the scenes' look at how our City, our community, our contracted non-profits and the ones we have a duty to serve, the elderly, disabled, ill, poor and homeless residents, are all faring, in the process of implementing 'Minimum Standards of Care' for our City's tax funded shelters. This is our way, as a responsible, caring community to improve the quality of the life of the people that live and work in our City's shelter system. These comments are derived from meetings, official reports, tips, leads and information provided by people that are directly involved with and have personal knowledge of these issues and conditions. --- We're asking these questions publicly, because we are being lied to -- by people we trusted in government and in non-profits; whom all make their living serving us - drawing salaries (anbd other scandalous profits and gains) from of our tax and donation dollars. They've been lying to us, keeping us 'captive' in the shelters, and lying to you, saying, 'look at those chronic homeless... we need more money '. Throwing more good money at unqualified, abusive and dishonest individuals in any system is a bad idea. We need regime change in our City's Agencies and Non-Profits, across the board. Just as they decided to wipe out 'safe places' like Busters' Place and 'harm preventing' resources, like mental health care for the 'slightly mentally ill', we need to decide, as a community, that we want these people that are harming us, to leave the system. They can go elsewhere to get a job, or they can become homeless and we will treat them, not as they treated us, but with respect, as we would have liked ourselves to be treated. We have a lot of questions because we do not want any liars, cheats or criminals to become part of any new standard or homeless shelter, system or programs. And, these questions are on the the minds of a whole lot of our City's Residents that are confused by the conflicting information you are giving us, about some basic shelter related issues that affect the quality of our lives, not yours. We ask these questions, keeping in mind, that all of these programs and services and agencies, are funded by our tax dollars and by our community's generous contributions in the form of donations or money and resident volunteers, to help non-profits defray their costs. Had we all known the extent of the conditions under which you have been keeping our people, enslaved and beaten down, we would have stopped funding you, donating to you and volunteering for you, years ago. Now that we can see this all in a brilliantly transparent way, we now are demanding solid answers. We are entitled to accountability and we have the right to prosecute the individuals and groups that have been intentionally or neglectfully harming thousands of us, for he past 15 years. We will never trust any of you again, unless you give us honest answers now, and in the future. This Question Goes to The Shelter Provider Directors, first: As a matter of your Shelter's Policy, are your shelter residents allowed to plug in their cell phones, as needed, somewhere close to their bed, so they can watch it to prevent theft ? If so, how long have you been allowing residents to do that ? This Question Goes to HSA and any other applicable agency with oversight or that derives any benefit or control over the $43 Monthly Electricity Allowance paid for by GA Benefits: How long have you been aware that shelter residents are routinely denied access to plug in their cell phones and why have you let the Shelters get away with acting in bad faith, contrary to your own Policies without compensation for the $43 loss to each resident on GA ? Aren't these failures to perform or failures to provide part of a legally binding contract ? Isn't wrong to submit a report to the people and to our Board of Supervisors that misleads us all, about the realities of how our money is being spent, contrary to the will of the social, legal and ethical contracts that we, as a community, decided were supposed to be honored by us all ? Why did you issue a false report about HSA Policy on this to our Board of Supervisors, while you knew or should have known that the 'cell phone plug in' policy, (and several others) are in fact, not in force ? Not in compliance ? Not in the best interests of the community we are supposed to serve properly ? How would you like to be 'trapped' in a shelter without being able to plug in your cell phone ? What if your mother was ill ? Wouldn't you expect any decent human being or service providers let their clients plug in ? Do you think its okay for shelter staff to plug in their laptops, dvd players, sound eliminating headphones and cell phones when they want to ? Isn't that a theft of City resources since those activities are personal gains to the staff, not critical to their job ? Just as cell phone useage to a client might be critical to his medical, health, job or family needs, yet almost every single shelter has barred residents from that most basic need. All of this, as a direct result of negligence, in your duty to enforce your own policies that has fosterd an environment in our shelters, that has been holding residents inside our shelters, basically 'incommunicado' ? Most shelters do not allow regular access to free local calls. Even if all the shelter providers (Directors and Managers) and all the City's staff have lied about this, the people at the top of these chains of lies, needs to step forward and explain exactly who has been lying to whom and why ? How would you like to be 'intentionally barred' from constant contact with your family, friends, job leads, employers, program providers and emergency services because some contracted non-profit has decided to not follow common sense and City Policy and City Employees fail to protect your right to have that cell phone plugged in, as needed, so you can 'get things done' and have safe, reliable means of communicating, at all times ? It's a job issues, a safety issue, a family issue, a freedom to speak issue and being independent issue. It's a not losing family, relationships, work, money or communikty obligations because my cell phone is dead issue. You already know first hand, that shelters do not and have not been following these City Policies for a long, long time, Let's be very clear about that up front. So, it begs the underlying question... 'Why don't the shelters WANT YOU to be enabled by having a cell phone ?' Why has HSA/DPH made the decision to NOT ENFORCE many or most of the policies shown below ? It costs pennies a year to keep a cell phone charged in a wall plug, 30 hours a week... so, the shelter can only invent financial arguments based on fantasy. And why, to this day, would anyone in this town try to mislead the public or our Board of Supervisors (vis a Budget Analyst;s Office) about these horrificly oppressive and 'human slavery' looking circumstances under which they are responsible for preventing. Prevention and thoughtful planning (by end users) always reduces cost. Corruption and lax enforcement of policies and law make costs (and taxes) skyrocket and invariably cause preventable conflict, personal failures, violence, illness, injury, losses and death to human beings that are virtually forced to live in these shelters. Do you all follow what is being shown here to you ? HSA's verbally stated and written policy as is copied here, in their official report to the Budget Analysts' Office (reporting to the Board of Supervisors) did not substantially reflect the long known facts, as we all now know them. This means we question the motives and agendas behind the presentation of fraudulent reports by HSA and others. And we question the reasoning or 'methodology' behind the Shelter's decision to keep doing the 'opposite' of community, contractural and policy requirements, with gross impunity and complete disregard for the safety and welfare of our community. Does anyone else 'get all of this' ? Since most of the shelters have apparently 'not been following policy' and have not done their job to keep the residents well cared for - cared for as they personally, would like to be cared for when their roles are reversed -- then how can we trust them or the agencies that lie to us, to be involved in the future design, planning, funding or management and policy enforcement of any future shelters, subsidized housing or any other City Project that requires TRUST ?? If you were to have put some sheep dogs in charge of your flock. And every month, for 15 years, hundreds of your sheep turned up lost, maimed and dead while your trusted sheep dogs watch, what would you do ? Well, you get some bigger dogs to watch over those sheep dogs, right ? Then, what happens when you can't sell your sheep at market, because they are too thin from lack of nutrition and look all tired, weak and beat up to get them off of the farm ? The bigger dogs were supposed to prevent the abuse and loss of sheep. So, would you burn down the farm and start over ? Would you keep paying for the salaries and programs set up and managed by these untrustworthy, violent and negligent sheep dogs ? What about the big dogs that were supposed to keep the sheep dogs from harming the sheep ? Every time you asked the well paid big dogs with degrees, how are those sheep dogs doing ? Are they misbehavin ? How about those sheep ? Are they all in their barns tonight, safe from the coyotes and the wolves around the farm ? If these big dogs kept lying to you, telling you that all the sheep are safe in bed (when really we have 200 beds with no sheep) and they tell you that they are doing a fine job keeping the sheep dogs in line (when really, the sheep dogs are trimming a lil wool off the sheep's back in exchange for a safe bed and aren't feeding them the new high protein grain you just brought in because the sheep dogs are selling most of it to some cattle farms) --- Are you going to trust these big dogs or the sheep dogs to sit down with you to design a whole new set of farms and grazing lands ? HELL NO -- YOU WOULD NOT TRUST ANY OF THESE DOGS AS FAR AS YOU COULD THROW THEM. You would likely fire the sheep dogs (the bad shelter people that ignored City Policy and trampled the rights and lives of the homeless sheep) and you would fire or demote the big dogs because they directly worked under your specific orders to watch the sheep dogs and they all lied to you. Then, you would sit down at the table with the sheep that were screwed, maimed and killed off by the sheep dogs and by the big dogs and plan your own future ways and means to keep them all safe. The problem is, the sheep do not trust you, their shepard, because YOU, should have protected them from the sheep dogs and the big dogs and the wolves because you are the Lord or Sheriff of the entire village. So, metaphorically, this is where this whole shelter mess now stands. As a community, we are letting heads of agencies that have not protected us and being asked to sit down with the sheep dogs that ignored (for personal gains or hidden motives and agendas) the rights of our people and City Policy which is an extension of our own will, in order to plan out new shelter and housing systems. We have a much better idea. We will sit down, as a community that does not profit directly (financially) by helkping to protect our fellow San Franciscans, pass laws to insure that Our Will is Law enforced to protect ourselves. Then and only then, can we all move forward and gain closure to our pain, suffering and losses, by all of this collective negligence by prosecuting every person responsible for their individual and group acts of negligence and abuse, against our community over the past 10 to 15 years. At at least let's go back five years... Then, after that, when all of the 'causes' of our pain and all of the liars, cheaters and thieves are either in jail, homeless or been run out of town -- We, as a community, minus the corrupted, can keep going about the serious work of designing new ways to keep all of our San Francisco residents safe with Our greater control and oversight, over our own money, lives and community residents. Because they cannot be trusted to do so, for us. Those days of trust are long gone. HERE'S THE MOST RECENT HSA REPORT TO THE BUDGET ANALYST - [ For the Board of Supervisors' Budget & Finance, Public Hearing/Rally - Noon @ City Hall on this coming Wednesday, February 20, 2008, Be there. ] This just a sliver of the report that HSA delivered (twice) to the Budget Analyst's Office that has influence (when its an honest, factual report) on the Budget Analysis that is written to enable Our Board of Supervisors to make good decisions, in line with reality and the will of the people being served well. [ written before the last two most recent, fact based, Bay Guardian Articles exposed them as being lies or indicates a gross lack of awareness on the part of our City Agency that was supposed to monitoring the policies, instead of letting contractors act with gross negligence and dereliction of duty by their complete failure to follow policy which has resulted in 15 years of great harm and suffering to our people. ] Free Local Calls - Not happening at most shelters. I want HSA to Show Us - the list of shelters that will give easy access (not a hassle or 'favor') to shelters residents to make free local calls, as need. SHOW US THAT LIST WITH THE SHELTER DIRECTOR'S SIGNATURE OF AUTHORIZATION ON IT. Next Door leaves Pay Phone off the hook. Most shelters WILL NOT let you easily make local calls. It's either NO WAY or HURRY UP - WE (staff) need to use it. They do not have phones dedicated or easily accessible for local calls, for any of the thousand or so residents, at most shelters. However, some staff at most shelters will accept cash, drugs or other favors in exchange for lots of different privileges. All City Shelters Provide Clients with access to Electricity - Lie, lie, lie, lie, lie. I want HSA to Show Us - the list of shelters that will allow resident, easy access (not a hassle or 'favor') to shelters residents to plug in their own cell phones, as needed. As in, an outlet near their bed or common areas, where they can watch their own phone to prevent theft. SHOW US THAT LIST WITH THE SHELTER DIRECTOR'S SIGNATURE OF AUTHORIZATION ON IT. As others have experienced and journalists and monitoring committee has documented on numerous occasions for many years. Why does HSA persist in lying about this ? Where did the $43 Electicity Allowance go ? How many GA workers were entitled by federal law to that crucial benefit, but were prohibited at 90% of the shelters from charging phones ??? Lost beds due to space requirements... 142 beds lost if we give humane bed spacing to prevent 'close contact' to prevent germs, cut down conflicts by allowing more space to breath and sleep peacefully.. Double decker bunks at the two largest shelters would add 200 more beds with very little additional facility cost and added 'revenue' from GA/SSI/VA woiuld offset training and hiring standards for extra drug free staff. And, this City (meaning its Mayor, or the BOS or the non-profits or the community at large) could decide to be responsible to replace beds in a million different ways, above and beyond what HSA is willing or able to do that would have ZERO negative impact on the shelter residents. Increasing humane conditions is the will of Our Community. Lying about it hurts us all and erodes Public Trust in certain government agencies and in certain non-profit providers. Neither of those two groups deserves to sit down at the table to plan out any future shelters or housing developments. They MUST be held ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE AND HAVE NOT BEEN DOING TO KEEP US SAFE FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS. WE DO NOT NEED THEM (THE LIARS, CHEATS AND ABUSERS) ANY MORE. THEY HAD TEHIR CHANCE. THEY TOOK OUR MONEY. THEY HURT US. THEY LIED TO US AND WE WILL NOT BE FOOLED BY THEM -- EVER AGAIN. WHAT WE NEED ARE NEW, TRUSTWORTHY, DRUG FREE, CORRUPTION FREE, TALENTED, EXPERIENCED AND CERTIFIABLE -- LOCAL, NATIVE SAN FRANCISCANS -- NOW. TO STEP UP TO THE NEW PLATE AND HELP US TEAR DOWN THE OLD MESS AND BUILD SOMETHING PURE AND BEAUTIFIL (AND COST EFFECTIVE) IN ITS PLACE. THAT IS WHAT WE CAN MUST AND INTEND TO DO BECAUSE WE CANNOT REWARD OR BE 'CODEPENDENT' ON THE HATERS, LIARS AND THIEVES ANY MORE. WE ARE DONE WITH THAT 'CYCLE OF ABUSE', AS A COMMUNITY. IT'S TIME FOR A COMPLETE REGIME CHANGE AND WE CAN DO IT, WORKING AS ONE. PUT THE SCREENING, QUALITY, HIRING, MONITORING, PERFORMANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY STANDARDS BUILT INTO THE NEW SYSTEM FROM THE BEGINNING, NOT AS A LATE AFTERTHOUGHT. How do you keep out the criminals from abusing clients and residents ? Stop hiring them fresh out of prison. The Put a Just Released Felon to Work Tax Credits mean nothing next to the cost of cleaning up the mess caused by the multiple abuses and damage caused by even one 'bad seed' in the mix. How do you minimize the chance of heavy drug dealers and users from having authority over vulnerable, recovering addicts and the mentally ill ? Stop hiring staff that cannot pass mandatory pre-hire and random drug tests. How do you stop staff from stealing donations and food ? Hire, third party, qualified security minded people with integrity to monitor and control dontations an food stores. Stop letting known thieves have keys and access to valuables. Stop hiring shelter staff relativcs as security officers that have multi-level relationships with other shelter staff and supervisors. How safe would you feel in a shelter knowing that the security guard is dating your floor monitor and she is the niece of a senior shelter staff members ? What if the boyfriend is dealing drugs to the disabled residents ? Who do you complain to ? The security guard will back up the monitor and the senior staff will likely try to 'cover' for his niece. This is the way that it has been for the past 15 years. That is why homeless people hate shelters. That is why they feel safer on the street rather than to be in a shelter with security guards that are corrupted by fat, non-competitive (or underbid by using unqualified, family and friends as the guards) security companies that are MAKING MILLIONS AT THE RISK AND DETRIMENT OF THE HEALTH, SAFETY, CARE, AND WELL BEING OF OUR MOST AT RISK LOCAL POPULATION. That's all for now. Take care and get back to us when you decide to 'come clean' and start being honest or when you have those 'lists' of authorization signed off by ALL of the Shelter Directors that are 'following policy'..... how gross and disgusting is this all ? We have only begun to touch on the Tip of This Iceberg. Like the song says, 'we're just gettin' started.... so, let's get this party started...'

SFHomeless Yahoo! Group Wiki-Updated- Homeless Health Alert !

The SFHomeless Yahoo! Group's Wiki has been updated with a new Health Alert! news story about homeless San Franciscan residents at a winter shelter whom were served 'breakfast' that were really leftovers. about 36 hours old from dinner, 2 days before!. The potentially bacteria laden meals were served at about 6am, on Wednesday December 26th, by the Episcopal Community Services Staff/Volunteers. The meals were 'room temperature' to the touch and inside the middle of all of the portions, the food did not appear to have been cooked, reheated or even refrigerated over the past several hours, up to 36 hours before, when the same meals were served almost two days earlier, as dinner, on the evening of December 24th, 2007. A detailed, preliminary report with statements by guests and witnesses and color photos of the actual meals served have been updated on the SFHomeless Yahoo! Group's Blog Site, their 'home' SFHomeless Yahoo! Group Site and on their SFHomeless Yahoo! Group Zoho Wiki Site, shown here. If you or anyone you know has eaten this unfit meal, please get checked out by a medical professional or public health care worker. You may email any information or photos about this or any other homeless related issues happening, in San Francisco or other major cities, directly to: SFHomeless@yahoo.com STAY SAFE OVER THE HOLIDAYS !
